Fast Talkie Now Supports Microsoft Teams on Android

For teams that rely on real-time communication, speed matters. Every second spent unlocking a phone, opening an app, and tapping through menus adds friction, especially in field operations where hands are busy and attention is limited.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce a major upgrade to our Fast Talkie feature: it now supports Microsoft Teams walkie talkie functionality on Android.

Until now, using Microsoft Teams as a walkie talkie came with limitations. While Teams does offer walkie talkie capabilities, it has largely been designed around on-screen interaction.

In real-world use, that meant:
Unlocking your phone
Opening the Teams app
Navigating to the right channel
Pressing and holding the on-screen button
It works, but it’s not fast.
In situations where communication needs to be instant, this extra friction becomes a real problem.

Bringing a Real Walkie Talkie Experience to Microsoft Teams
Fast Talkie changes that.

With this new update, you can now use a dedicated push-to-talk trigger to communicate over Microsoft Teams, just like a traditional walkie talkie.

Instead of relying on the screen, Fast Talkie enables:
Immediate voice transmission with a single press
No need to unlock or navigate your device
A consistent, hardware-like experience on Android

This transforms Microsoft Teams from a software-based communication tool into something much closer to a true walkie talkie system.

Expanding Beyond Zello

Fast Talkie originally supported platforms like Zello, which are widely used for push-to-talk communication.

With the addition of Microsoft Teams, teams can now stay within their existing enterprise environment while gaining the speed and simplicity of PTT.

There’s no need to switch between apps or maintain separate communication systems, everything works within Teams.

This feature is currently available on Android devices only, where we’re able to deliver the performance and background behavior required for reliable push-to-talk.

At the moment, Samsung devices are not supported, and the feature is not available on iOS.

By focusing on Android, we ensure that Fast Talkie delivers low latency, stable performance, and consistent responsiveness, all critical for real-time communication.

Unlocking the Full Potential of Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams is already widely adopted across organizations. By adding a walkie talkie button experience, Fast Talkie unlocks a new layer of usability that wasn’t previously possible.

What used to require multiple steps can now be done in a single press.
It’s a small change in interaction, but a big leap in efficiency.

Pair It with a Dedicated PTT Earpiece

For the best experience, Microsoft Teams Walkie Talkie can also be paired with Earpiece designed specifically for push-to-talk.

We recommend the

VoicePing PTT Earpiece (USB-C Earbuds with PTT Button and Mic) , a lightweight headset with a built-in PTT button that works seamlessly with Android devices and Microsoft Teams.

With a physical button on your headset, you can:
• Communicate instantly without touching your phone
• Keep your device in your pocket
• Achieve a true walkie talkie workflow using Microsoft Teams

A Better Way to Talk

Fast Talkie brings together the reliability of Microsoft Teams and the simplicity of a walkie talkie.

No delays. No unnecessary steps. Just press and talk.

If your team depends on fast communication, this is the upgrade you’ve been waiting for.
